Brosette Number 4
I got the trio of Brosettes all ready for pick up and this delightful Brosette typewriter from the year 1953 shows up for service. The machine itself needed the right side ribbon feed repaired. It is pretty straight forward to remove the ribbon feed assembly and repair. Then it was just some minor service. Mostly the typewriter case needed work. New rubber feet and a new leather handle. I could not find an escutcheon that was close to the … [Read more...]
Smith-Corona Classic 12 Cyrillic Typeface – For Sale $455
This is a near perfect Smith-Corona Classic 12 typewriter featuring a Cyrillic typeface at 10 CPI. It types very nice, leaving a nice dark imprint. It comes complete with the carrying case, manual and warranty information. The warranty paperwork is not filled out, spanking new. Since this machine comes with the newer style plastic case, I'd say it is most likely from the year 1980. 6LTV615777 For Sale $455 … [Read more...]

A wonderful Trio of Brosettes
I love my typewriter collectors as they bring in some very interesting machines. These three Brosette portables are from one of my favorite collector guys. You do not get the opportunity to have a Brosette typewriter from West Germany in many collections. I'd only seen photos. It was a real hoot to have three in the shop all in one swoop. According to the notes in typewriterdatabase.com these lovelies were manufactured between 1953 and … [Read more...]
Royal Model 10 from the Year 1931
This Royal model 10 was brought in for repair and needed a ton of work. Someone really used this typewriter . . . a lot. A genuine dirt bucket, this machine needed a heavy cleaning and the type bar rest fell apart as I was cleaning the type faces. The platen had seen an amazing amount of wear, the paper rollers disintegrating and pretty much if it was rubber that stuff had seen better days! After assessing the machine, we agreed it needed … [Read more...]
Tom Thumb Toy Typewriter
This toy typewriter was brought in by a customer for some light service. I like the toy typewriters. Not a single one types worth a hoot, yet they are plain cute. This nice red President is a well preserved example of the plastic variety. The machine has been serviced and will be a unique gift. It even has a carrying case! … [Read more...]
Montgomery Ward Escort 55 Portable Typewriter – SOLD $320
This is a very fine example of the Montgomery Ward Escort 55 Portable Typewriter manufactured in the 1970's. Apparently these are re-branded Olivetti Lettera typewriters and type real nice. It features a bright yellow ribbon cover and sports Pica type face, 10 cpi. The clam shell case states it was made in Spain. This is possible as we all know inanimate objects speak loudly and often. 6610443 SOLD $320 … [Read more...]
