This is a customers 1950’s Royal QDL Typewriter with Vogue Type face. In for service.
Originally shipped from Alaska April 18, 2025 via USPS, the typewriter was lost in transit as it reached the Seattle USPS hub. We helped the customer with getting a refund from USPS, and it took MONTHS. . . And they never got the refund!
Well, one day in August, a box shows up. Yep, that missing Royal typewriter from Alaska.
Griffin took on this machine and repaired the shift, the back carriage cover, and replaced a defective margin rack. Along with a new platen this typewriter types nice. Ready to ship this one back to Fairbanks. This time . . . Fedex.
Oh, and he named this typewriter, Odysseus!
