I’m sure it is no surprise to learn there are so few resources locally to repair typewriters.
What I think is maybe a greater revelation . . . Bremerton Office Machine Company is NOT ALONE! Seriously, while I think the publicity surrounding Mr. Montgomery and the typewriter shop has been amazingly positive it leaves the impression we are the ONLY shop out there. We are not. We ARE the only Seattle area full time shop dedicated to typewriters every day, all day.
I think it a disservice to have folks come all the way from Leavenworth only to learn there is Bellingham Business Machines practically in their back yard. Or the nice gentleman who drove all the way from Renton with his IBM Selectric typewriter to discover the resident IBM expert is located in Bellevue.
I appreciate folks needing expert service, and occasionally they don’t need to travel all the way to Bremerton to get it. Don’t read me wrong; I need and want the business and love the machines and my customers are top notch! Also, Bremerton is a great town. I just know how I would feel taking hours of my day then realizing I could of . . .
