This Adler Primus is a customer machine in for service. We see some pretty common items with this model. Mostly related to the typewriter attaching to the bottom of the case. The rubber hold down mechanism is ALWAYS toast. Delicious, delicious toast. The rubber feet at the bottom of the case are readily missing along with the felt cover for the rectangle typewriter feet, resting on the case bottom.

With this typewriter the ribbon had previously been liberally re-inked and that damn inky goop was everywhere. Please stop it with re-inking ribbon. Replacement ribbon is less than the service labor to clean out that crap from the ribbon feed and type bars. Jeesh!
Also the copious use of WHITE-OUT made for some meticulous cleaning of the card guide, platen and paper tray. Sooo much white out. The photos are of the completed typewriter, ready for the customer to pick it up.

For the bottom of the case, Amsterdam typewriter makes silicone Hermes Rocket feet that are a perfect fit. Then we replace the missing felt with new. The hold down is refreshed using a bit of 3/16 inch ID by 3/8 inch OD rubber tubing.
The Adler portables are nice typing machines. Easy to use and put good print on the page.
