This is a customer machine from 1957 brought in for a good de-stinking and general tune up. I like the style Eatons endowed on the Prestige typewriter (a re-branded Smith-Corona). The mildew was strong with this one.
We often get in typewriters that developed odors while stored for decades. We wash as much of the machine we are able, then disinfect the insulation and give the carrying case a good cleaning. This works much of the time. It certainly made a world of difference with this Prestige typewriter.
Such a nice case.
Since the machine is lovely shades of brown we even put on a brown ribbon to match.
