According to the Typewriter database; The Smith-Corona “Studio Model” Musicwriter was batch manufactured in 1962 by SCM to MPC specs, based on a Galaxie design. Probably less than 1000 made, and were sold between 1962 into the late 1960’s. Like most Galaxie-based custom designs by SCM, the Studio Musicwriter carries its own serial number series. Highest serial number found yet is 517.
