I love it when one of my customers brings in a machine that you don’t see often. While you see Rheinmetall portable typewriters, the large standard machines are few and far far away. This full featured GS beast is from 1950, serial number 12250. It is a recent customer purchase brought in for a cleaning, tune up and the tabs were hanging up.
The machine features ease of service as the carriage assembly lifts off with a twist of knobs on each side, then the outer shell lifts off after undoing just 4 screws.
Like the Olympia machines this is a service persons dream come true.
Also, the machining and fit and finish is oh soooo impressive.
So what are all those unlabeled key tops on each side of the key board?
